You and your pet will be greeted by one of the members of our veterinary team as you enter our facility. Your pet's health history and your contact information will be confirmed at your initial check-in. Your pet's weight will be recorded prior to transferring to an examination room.
Our veterinary team will conduct a thorough history and help to answer questions that you may have. Our veterinarian will then perform a full physical examination to check the health of your pet. The examination includes evaluation of your pet's eyes, ears, oral health, skin and weight. Our doctor will also listen to your pet's heart and lungs and evaluate the size and shape of your pet's stomach, liver, kidneys, urinary bladder and intestines.
Following your pet's examination, your veterinarian will provide an assessment of the physical examination findings along with recommendations to maintain and/or improve your pet's health. You will also receive a written Report Card so that you can share the information with your family members. It is our goal at Springfield Veterinary Center to communicate effectively, address your concerns and answer all questions that you might have pertaining to your pets' health.
In some circumstances, Dr. Wiseman will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
